Coming out on top

Child's Play

Before you depart
I'll be taking back what I have given you
the assets of mine that you've
Stolen
Shattered years
Broken dreams
A spear stricken heart
You are a poltergeist
A pickpocket
Here one day and
Gone
In the blink of an eye
Pilfering everything in your alleyway
Whilst I lay
Defenseless
Blinders you placed on my eyes
Steered me to
Your imaginings
To your anticipations
Your desires
Your wishes
Dragging me head-on into an inferno
Fastening me there
And parting with me
Flames smoldering my individual
Needs
Dreams
Hopes
Requests
Relations
Feeling
As you smirked
watching me try to
Disentangle myself
From your bonds
I was a new toy to you
And you-
The anxious child
Adoring me at the start
Most esteemed possession
Then annihilating me
Waiting for mommy to buy you
Something new
Before you go
Take everything of yours back
Your rage
Your spiteful words
Your taunting memories
I don't need to
Reminisce
The photos in my mind
Anymore
I tremble in anticipation to
Erase
The twinge you've left bleeding on them
You are pale
Pierced
Compressed
Closed
Dehydrated
Dark
Wasted
Wilted
Before you go
Search yourself
I will, however, let you keep one possession of
Mine
The recollection of elation
Wishing you the best of luck
That someday you may be
Transformed for your next
Ill-fated new plaything
