We all build barriers in our lives, for what ever reasons, but some times we can become to attached to them, causing more harm then good.

Coming home.

My wall begins to crumble
Yet I fight to keep It there
Locked away from prying eyes
And those who want to stare.

It took an age to put It up
And keep me safe within
This boundry of emotion
Now seems a whisper thin.

The hurt the pain, so far away
Now hovers like a cloud
To swirl around my fortress
Tearing layers from my shroud.

My lake of tears, now so much dust
Lays dormant at my feet
To bare my soul, for all to see
Acceptance to my fate.

makes me think you are a girl? I thought otherwise. Why I am saying this is, because I hve a poem like that about building a wall around the heat to avoid hurt. But let it go, break free!

Nicely written. Another poem written when inspired. I see your connection here within yourself. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.

It there - it there
It up - it up
i know you are emphasising the wall here, but it just looks untidy in the poem. readers will know that you mean the wall when you say it, in my opinion, by putting it as It you are insulting the reader's intelligence by assuming they would not realise it is referring to the wall.

a whisper thin - would flow better with whisper thin.

aye we do all build barriers in life, constantly we build them and knock them down to rebuild them.
