Lazy afternoon break

Forest of Bere.

Sitting here beneath the Beech
Green Fern and yellow Gorse
Basking in the sunshine
At one with natures force
As peaceful as the day is long
Its beauty so serene
Springtime in in glory
As the eye has ever seen
Ivy creeps up Silver Birch
To sway in gentle breeze
In rhythm with the Daffodils
So eager now to please
This feeling of tranquility
Plays softly on the ear
To while away an hour or two
In this place that I hold dear.

This was a lovely read! Evokes a sort of dreamy style that makes you want to go wherever it was that inspired this. ;) When I was on poetbay last, five years ago you were one of my favourite poets; I'm glad the search engine found you again!

Regards,

Tranquil moments away from the chaos of life, always nice to find a place like this. Made me reflect on a few places of my own which are too far away at the moment. But hey they still dwell in a quiet place of the mind, so not all is lost.

Enjoyed the read. It's been a while, but your poem popped up on the list of friends texts.

I can imagine it perfectly and that's what is great about this poem. I have places that i hold dear too, that just make me feel like im bursting with some kind of emotion. They make me smile like an utter goof for no particular reason save for their existence. And the fact that you made me LOVE your place through simply describing it in words is amazing. I love the portrayal of tranquility as a sound rather than an environment. Whittling it down to something basic was clever. LOVED this :)
