To Hold Ones Heart.

What am I? but a pawn in loves sweet dream
Yet still in hope to sip the cream
From off the lips of passions dawn
That from my soul can still be drawn
A love of life, a femme fatale
To change my life, encompass all
Is there such a one that still exists?
That looks on life, to take the risks
To hold ones heart without regret
Yet there by fate would not have met
Or do I live in dreams alone
To sit upon this lonely throne
Existing in the shadows past
Of this I know that cannot last
Or is there light beyond the pale
To ressurect a soul for sale

Graham this has so much of your heart in it and flows like the cream you speak of in your poem. Beautifully done. Love can be so illusive and frustrating at times. I too have dreams.

Oh, dear Graham, you are in love!
What a pity, it is a femme fatale,
To claim the love of such a pure one as you!
I do hope she sees the angel in you?
I do hope she glipses the true one in you?
'Cause I know, there is no other one,
So honest, so loyal, so passionate like you!
All the best my friend to you!

((((Hugs))))

Love, Zoya

There certainly is Penfold, love the name by the way! Reminds me of a favoured cartoon character of my kids, husband included. I loved the rhyme and rythme of your poem, it has a jaunty tone to it and also a yearning for refreshment of the sort we all could do with. I am sure the right someone won't pass you by. Smiling at you, wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Tai
