expanding all-seeing eye

stillness.

a quiet echo
rolls from the emptiness

a wave crest
churning;
an introspective ocean carved
from your body.

you touch the tissue
crumbling like sand
skin wrapped in
salt and
tears

standing up, you gaze at
the wavering chasm
and you press your fingers
into the darkness

it is smooth and
welcoming.

Kathy Lockhart
This holds me captive as I stare into the soul of the poem, peering to see the mystery of its birth.
