Love Is All. A debate in verse by Kath and lastromantic hero
Love is a mess so they say
But its a better than even guess
That those who do sway
To that point of view
Have very often
Loved and lost
Or hurt someone
They never intended to
And in the hurt lies emptiness
filling lonely paths
longing for the loving caress
words vulnerable and free
Hurt felt in darkened days
as doubt rides our way
twitching and turning time
filling our broken minds
Yet through the doubt love remains
Be it ever so true
Since of itself love is all
Hapless helpless and unconditional
It exists in isolation e'en unrequited
True love endures to the end
And returns again though lost
For true love is beautiful and empirical
So I go on loving
between high and low
seeing my broken heart mend
caressing the fragile steps
closing enemy lines
in nights of tears
as tender words fold
round my naked heart
