A fine romance
A fine romanceWould you traverse the sands of time
Immerse your soul in endless rhyme
And would you once more set your spirit free
Would you give love just one more chance
Embrace with trust a fine romance
And would you do such wondrous things for me
I would sail a lonely sea
Divest those chains that fetter me
And I would dare to seek a love so true
I would with words of honest prose
Rid the weeds, my thoughts a rose
And I my dear would do these things for you
Would you delight to hear my name
Kindle anew love's dying flame
And would you walk down that aisle with me
Would you in love extend your hand
Wear with pride my golden band
And would you whisper softly "I love thee"
I would soar like Gabriel
On wings above my wishing well
Forever gliding in a sky so blue
I would never more to roam
My heart at last to find a home
For I my dear shall ever love just you.
