why I always answer "how are you?" with: "better than I deserve...."
Is given by a nail-scarred hand;
All I deserve is judgment,
But Jesus paid the law's demand.
Even the faith to follow
Can never be a boast for me;
God set my heart to beating
And caused my lifeless eyes to see.
Every sin-pleasure shunning,
The pleasure of my Lord and King
Now becomes all I long for;
All treasures to His cross I bring.
Crucified with my Master,
I glory in His least command,
Serving Him, and enjoying
Each favor from His nail-scarred hand.

Every Good Gift
Every good gift I cherishIs given by a nail-scarred hand;
All I deserve is judgment,
