Lyrics to a blues song my band wrote. Pretty repetitive lyrics, but if you know how blues songs work, then you can imagine how smooth it can be.

The Long Run

My baby know's a place like this, far far from here
My baby, she knows a place like this, far, far from here
And my baby dreams about it, year after year

No train, and no plane, could take my baby where she wants
No train and no plane, take my baby where she wants
In the nightmares that she dreams, in the daydreams that she haunts

When the night was crawling, my baby took the long run home
I said once night was crawling, theres my baby runnin' home
She took my heart in the long run, and left me all alone

I'm waitin' in the yard, so my baby come back to me
I'm waitin' real hard, so my baby comes back to me
But she's goin' on the long run, farther than I can see

I love the blues! This fits the blues perfectly. I just wish I could hear you singin' it. : )
