Ship of tears

I watch her as she button up
A little lamb amongst the wolves
This little dance beneath the waves
And the price we pay
Why don't you let me in

Through shadows of the past
Barefoot dances through the glass
And through the chestnut curls
Just a little girl
Why don't you let me in

All we'll ever know
It's written in these tiny sighs
And all we'll ever see
This silent ship sails every night
Through our little fears
A ship of tears

Her breathing by my side
Every single dawn we die
Nothing to be heard
But those same empty words
Won't you let me in

All we'll ever know
Is hidden in her tiny hands
And all we'll ever see
We take this ship so far from land
With our little fears
A ship of tears
