be free of oppression

Stand up

The greatest task in life
To stand up for what is right
For what you believe in
For yourself
And your morals

You have value
Just as all do
Yet some lay down their law
And others just lay down

You reach a point in your life
When you understand who you are
Or what your really want
And especially at that point
Steel walls are built around you to keep you tame

The person inside wants out
Wants freedom so bad
That the walls crack and
What's inside sprays out with ferocity
And more intensity than you ever wanted

People can not understand why this is happening
Why when something wound and bound so tight
Erupts and causes such chaos
It would be stopped if the shackles were not on

As people grow
Minds grow
Souls grow
Understanding of life grows
And our need for freedom and independence grows

There are eruptions of this ferocity everywhere
All across the globe and even universe
The law makers, the law takers
Wars are waged and millions perish in rage
A little boy at home cornered by screaming parents

A turning point in life
To leave the oppression
The suppression of ourselves
The mastication of our souls
And stand up
