The sky is there

How can we walk on by
The road that passes the sky
As if we were afraid
That it would be gone
We stare at the grime
Because we know
Because it has been there
Since we remember
As if we were afraid
That the sky would be gone
How can we keep
Our heads slung low
Dodge the trouble
That may fly above us
And miss the sights
That take our breath away

How can we trudge
Burdened by our fears
Are we used to it
Are we used to the pain
Suffering
How can we just bear
We don't even have to grit our teeth
Are we used to it
The pack mules of society
Its members have become
How can we take the punishment
That needs not be upon us

There is no reward without risk
Have we forgotten
How great life rewards us
When we just try
How can we not
We are comfortable
And simply for that sake
We remain
Asking why
Why me
Why god
Why pain
Why stress
Why worry
Can it get much worse
When you are unhappy
How can we not just
try
Just look up
The sky is there
Just
Look
Up

betsy Firefly
You're talking the right direction here.

But the sky won't hear you!
