Love wretches the body: The wait

You've talked
And typed
And written
And smiled
And joked
And flirted
You've not met
You can wait
Each breath becomes more painful
The pain we yearn for
The pain our lives is solely based on
The pain and the risk of love

Last chance to step away
The ledge at your toes
Once you jump your in
You're in over your head
Last chance to step away

Breath
Time ticks
Sunrise
Sunset
Time ticks

The pain moves into your middle
It swirls and consumes you
Hold you inside with immeasurable force
We embrace it
We fear it
Love

We can not think
Only breath
Automatic
Heart beats
Heart hurts
We fear
But we risk
We've been hurt before
We fear
But we risk
For the pain of loss
Is worth the time spent of love
And the gamble
It will last forever

So we wait
Wait for the meeting
The first time
The date
Two lives colliding
Two lives coinciding
We breathe
And savour the agony
Crippling our bodies
We smile
