Now, here
one moment to the next
a sadness floods my heart.
I was happy,
or so I thought
but then
the truth,
that ever lurks
in a
deep dark corner
of my heart,
pounces.
the truth
that I am not whole,
unless love
can have its way
with me,
freeing me of damning
thoughts,
prejudice
and historical
absolute stupidity.
Oh!
that I could contact
my virgin soul
Oh! how I would draw you close
in that glorious light.
Oh! how I would rejoice,
We would dance,
fly
both of us,
one breath,
one love,
soaring
a million years an hour,
always
in the eternal moment
of now.
but sadly,
one moment to the next,
now, here
I am reminded
of my earthly frailty.
and so
journey on,
ever conscious
of how far I am
from your love
and
the sweetness
of your warm,
comforting
breast.
Amsterdam,
2 April 2000.
