I have been called an Angel on another poetry site. So this is just a reply to those kind comments.
I'm really just an ordinary guy, with lots of help from you know who.
God has given me his blessings, showed me his master plan.
Your job should you chose to accept, is just to do the best you can.
So I thank you for the accolades, for the faith and trust you place in me.
I'm really not an Angel, I'm just trying to be me.
I'm not ready for a pair of wings or a halo made of gold.
God's given me a mission, to welcome you all into his fold.
So if you're looking for a Angel, then just dial 1-800-God.
Angel's can be anywhere, finding one is really not that odd.
On Earth we call friends Angels, they come in different shapes and sizes.
All you have to do is pray when the need arises.
So ya see I'm not much different than your neighbor down the street.
I just try to lend a helping hand to everyone I meet.
I try to give a smile to everyone I see.
In hopes that I'll get lucky and they will give one back to me.
So once again I thank you, for being so good to me.
I'm just God's humble servant who writes a little poetry.
So I'll just leave this Angel stuff, too the man up stairs.
I'm really not an Angel, I'm just someone who cares.
This poem was inspired by my little sisters, Lee Degnan and Kristin Davis.
HOPE YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU BOTH VERY MUCH.
