A work of purely fiction.

How I'll remember you

That is how I'll remember you
Standing by the docks
The ocean wind in your hair
The sun kissing your cheeks

That is how I'll remember you
Smiling for no apparent reason
Your stance so nonchalant
Though it really spoke to me

That is how I'll remember you
Dancing by the firelight
Begging me to join in
But in the awe of you
I refused

That is how I'll remember you
Roses for no good reason
Presents, out of season
Loving me only the way you could

Yet..

I'll try and forget
The day you left
No trace, no inkling
Of what once was

"Roses for no good reason
Presents, out of season"

What a great & hopelessly romantic text!

This might be a work of pure fiction, but it was obviously penned by someone who's been there. A real pleasure to read once again. Great stuff!
