Half my band and I, and a few friends, have all gotten our hearts broken recently. They wrote a song, a friend sung it, and I lended in a verse about my own experience. That one verse is the chorus to this poem-lyric. The rest I wrote based off my experie

4 Cute Girl (Mike's Version)

My soul is lit up, my eyes are on fire
As memory serves me well, cuz I care
Above my head I see an acrobat wire
You'd have me hanging from my neck way up there

My wounds are hurting but my hurting is sweet
As memory serves, the closer we get
You dropped me quick but I land on my feet
So baby please, I'll just forgive and forget

The life we live
Gets colder everytime
We play this game and learn
And though you say
Our love will last the night
Your word I somehow never earn

The day's anthology rings out to the clear
If you close your eyes, you can almost feel the moon
The crickets soft chirp, the stars you can hear
Daze off to sleep and awake in the noon

The life we live
Gets colder everytime
We play this game and learn
And though you say
Our love will last the night
Your word I somehow never earn

It would sure be nice to have audio on poet bay ... as Kathy points out ... well at least to hear your words sung ...:)

and we do learn from these experiences ... the hard parts .. but then again we also learn the beautiful ones ....

as always your poem flows in meaning and rhyme ...

best wishes

you have written the perfect scorned lover's poem. I read it and thought, "Hey, I can identify with that." Again, I wish for audio capabilities for this site to be able to hear your song sung.
