Three days after the Boxing Day Tsunami, this girl's photograph appeared in all the papers.
What was she thinking?
Face down,
In the sand,
Oblivious,
To death.
Bikini,
Protecting her
Modesty,
Surrounded by
The aching
Debris
Of the
Tsunami.
What was
She thinking?
We saw her,
Lying on a
Sandy clearing
On the beach,
Driftwood piled up
Round her.
Oblivious
To pain.
The whole world
Watching,
Saw her
Sunbathing,
In the midst
Of utter
Devastation.
What was
She
Thinking?
Maybe she'd
Stopped thinking.
It was safer.
