A final tear
Rivulets of salted tears stain the crumpled page
Obscuring words wrenched from a tortured soul
I have found another love one with a lesser rage
And shall no longer greet the night alone
I have waited five long years immersed in your sad prose
Beguiled by sentiments of truth and dare
My eyes expressing such deep love through glasses tinted rose
My thoughts as one knelt in a silent prayer
You walked from me that stormy night never to forget
You spoke of dreams nomadic of intent
You kissed my eyes so tenderly your love mixed with regret
I wiped those tears I know you truly meant
Your promises like cherished jewels I locked within my heart
Awaiting your return from travels far
Our Camelot remained a dream my life a cindered hearth
My sun my moon alas a shooting star
You sought your dreams of mountains climbed traversing foreign lands
Your need ever uplifting in it's quest
On your return we were to wed I yet await your golden band
Your ghost at alter rail my only guest
And now my dear I feel it time to of my penance rid
You were my first and ever only love
Whilst you like eagle soared aloft in valiant freedoms bid
I knelt and prayed to angels from above
Your letters spoke of tribulations laced with daring do
Your conquest of all things that made you sad
You wrote with intense honesty of love to soon renew
And I in truth was for you oft times glad
But for love to thrive in endless flow two hearts must beat as one
We all need shelter from a love turned cold
No longer shall I long for love evasive in it's sum
I wed another unlike you so bold
