It kind of bugs me when fairy tales and love stories just end with "happily Ever After"...because that's not at all realistic...what about those moments when you hate each other, what about the moments when you feel totally invisible to the other perso
Did you even know that I was gone,
Until you saw the dishes piled
In the sink, too high to see,
And the grass was like a jungle in the lawn?
Did you call for me, my love?
Did you wonder where I went
Before the frozen TV dinners
Didn't fill you anymore,
And the bedsheets held an unattractive scent?
Did you want me 'round, my dear?
Did you miss me in your life?
Wake up enough between commercials
Between your football and your beer
To wonder just what had become of your young wife?
Did you think we'd come to this,
That day we said "I do"?
That I'd take vacation by myself,
A wife wanting to be known for herself,
Wanting you to notice more than housecleaning and food.
We used to be so in love, my dear,
Just where did we go wrong?
And how did our dream together,
With our picket fence and dog,
Turn into the lyrics of a bad-soap-opera song?
I want my husband back, my love,
The one who married me,
Who liked to dance, who loved my eyes,
Who always had a moment free,
How do we find our way back from this mess to you and me?
I love you, oh so much, my dear,
I always have, and ever will,
But I feel like only background noise,
Extra furniture in your house,
And I want to know, my darling, do you also love me still?
