A view of our world

Humanity

Stupidity surrounds me,
Ignorance enthralls me,
In my mind and in my soul,
I feel the whole world is a toll,
A debt to be paid,
Morality is doomed to fade,
Until life consumes us all,
And we fall,
Alive by the hand of the devil,
Damned at an irrevokable level,
Love is nonexistent within the bounds of mortality,
Culture and nationality,
Which was once flavoring and spice,
Is now head-lice,
Death encompasses all I see,
And I fear, its getting to me,
Hate in a world that preaches the making of love,
Is not really something you can rise above,
Evil laces every thought, action, and word,
If love does cry out, 'tis not heard,
We sit and we connive,
Work so hard to drive,
To be in control,
We drink soup from the bowl,
That gave us the cold,
And not a soul remains that is bold,
Fairytales are vicarious
And it is down right hilarious,
The hopes of these few romantics,
That thought they could fix,
Our fate with a story,
However deep within us, there is a jury,
That rules in favor of these tales,
In hopes that a real-life happy ending prevails,

But alas, our hearts still weep,
And we still creep,
Into others' business to find fault,
So their success will come to a halt,
And we can shine,
But like an old, expensive wine,
After a good amount of time,
A few pretty-pennies and maybe even a dime,
We will spoil!
