How deep do you look into a person?

Skin Deep

Do you see when you look?
Do you read between the lines in a book?
Or do you not even open the cover,
Do you just hover,
Above what your eyes can see,
Going no farther in, then the mist of the sea,
Is your heart blind,
Or are you kind,
Enough to let it take over for your eyes?
Your heart won't tell you lies,
You will go deeper then the skin,
You might just find sin,
In what your eyes thought was a rose,
And what could be ugly from their head to their toes,
Might be passed by your heart as paradise,
Remember, the most beautiful head can have lice,
So look not with your eyes, but with your heart,
And you can then pick apart,
Whomever you wish,
Just to make sure what you dish,
Is not just skin deep!
