Somewhere I Belong

Is there a world, where understanding blooms
Within the earth that bore our first steps,
Each person left a mark in the dust

But it grew weary and tired,
Lost in hope that someone would nurture
Its beaten back
And love it for its purpose.

As tears cascade in readied hate,
I sit and wonder
Why are we judged for the right to live?
Why are we judged just because they are ignorant?
Why can't people try to listen?

But what do I wish?

To be able to smile and not feel fear
From the eyes that seek my souvenirs.
To stand and feel that I belong
As lies and misguided whispers die
But not I.

Some great images and powerful statements that question! All round a very good piece of work. For me these two lines really stand out.

"To be able to smile and not feel fear
From the eyes that seek my souvenirs."

Enjoyed the read.
