My little angel
She was mine my only seed a child of beauty rareHer countenance would tears make devils weep
And for the first time in my life I felt a need to care
As into my embrace her smile did leap
My arms a cradle as I danced with child who could not see
My lullaby's would hush her childish fear
For she knew even then the tender arms belonged to me
And that her daddy would always be near
I lay awake most every night in fear that she may cry
My voice a whisper she would come to know
She was the first and only girl to whom I did not lie
Our bonding would help both of us to grow
And as she grew her beauty would now melt a heart of stone
Her smile the sun to light my darkest day
She learned to walk, to talk, to laugh, to never be alone
To know her daddy loved her come what may
We were as one two spirits free merged in a love so true
And as I write my eyes do mist with tears
For god had given me a love ere which I never knew
And I still miss her smile despite the years
