I wrote this one day at the kitchen table, whilst looking out into the garden.
I'm new to poetbay.

My Garden

My garden is a place of rest,
the place on earth that I love best.
Down among the trees and flowers,
I spend my happiest waking hours.

There's a mist of colour and a sea of scent.
A bit of Heaven that God has lent.
Why search and spend in seeking pleasure....
Your garden is your greatest treasure.

Each bursting bloom's a miracle to me,
if only everyone could see.
No need for fighting, rage and wars,
go into your gardens, and shut your back doors.

Leave your chair, turn off the pc.
come into the garden, all glory to see.
Hear the birds sing in a burst of praise,
and thank God for the gift of Summer days.

....makes me want to have a cuppa out in the garden,
your garden on a bright spring day, if you'd let me.

This is a wonderful text. It reminds me very much of my father, who share your passion for growing things. His garden is his private haven, where I think he gets much of his strength and spirit from. I'm glad to see you write about this; thank you. Keep it up.

I love this, it is just beautiful, it makes me feel like I am right there in your garden! I love 'There's a mist of colour and a sea of scent.
A bit of Heaven that God has lent. '
I can't wait for summer now!

The natural world seems to have an endless abundance of things to write about and you have captured your own little piece of it beautifuly, leaving the reader in no doubt about your passion for it. A well composed, expressive piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing regards Steve

I so do agree with you, I don't have a garden for the first time in my life and I miss it very much. but I live in the countryside near beaches and nature is my number one healing aid, it calms the soul to out there in it. My next house will have a garden again, Welcome to the bay of hopefulness. Smiling at you, Tai
