Gentle Thoughts In Oxford by M.A.Meddings
In the depths of my darkest moments
She was there
An ethereal vision
A gentle love unknown
And a phone call found her at home
Yule tide joy in the midst of winter
Santa Claus came on an Oxford street
Baliol college thoroughfare
With chestnut ovens aglow
Mince pies and mistletoe
In Debenhams
Sale price trousers and Willie Nelson CD's
Played for a song at the City HMV
Yet I was thinking of her an ocean away
Was she alone should I call her today
Waiting in silence in a closed door way
Listening and wanting for her to say
Hello!
Oh! My!
Good morning
Merry xmas Sir knight
In her own soft way
And enchanted was I
By the daring I'd shown
This beautiful lady
Perhaps all alone
Should I ask of her health
Well really I know
She is beautifully radiant
Her skin all a glow
And the scent of her perfume
Invades all my mind
Imagined the fragrance
The romantic kind
For a lady like that
Christian Dior or a Chic Anais
Just a touch at her throat
In this warm xmas kiss
Wishing and wanting that she were mine
And things with the heart they could be so fine
Oh please pretty lady Just give me a chance
For The heart of a hero to start this romance
