You know I'm just kiddin' about the "hate" but I am not kiddin' about the addiction!

I Hate Poetry!

I have become a slave to verse.
Each stupid rhyme makes me feel worse!
I'm haunted by dead poets, here,
glued to this dumb chair all year!

My butt has now conformed the shape
of a fat, demented, ape.
My mind does not belong to me.
I'm doomed for all eternity.

Seuss and Poe and Dickinson
all wriggle in and have their fun.
Poetry is an addiction.
Release me, please, from this affliction!

I liked it. Hungry life becomes a poetry then the poetry turns into passion, passion into adiction and then addiction into affliction and probably affliction turns into hate and hate again turns into love. Here you go.

Very good poem! I am just as addicted. I'll get a book and won't stop reading it until it's done...poetry books I mean. It's a great poem. You explain the addiction rather than just SAYING you're addicted.

Rhyming can be a bit of a curse,
whithout it though,
you'd feel much worse.

It's a fascinating addiction,
enabling poems,
and works of fiction!

So Lavendar please do carry on,
you'd be missed by us if you were gone......

Individuality
ah poetry, sometimes a curse,
but then in flies another verse,
to bring the minds of those before,
i wish though that they'd close the door.

can't keep them out at times, try setting mental traps lol i can imagine emily in a bear trap now, wailing like a banshee. :)
