Among the Ferns

Among the ferns the fairies sleep
while springtime paints the dell with green.
A robust robin eats her fill
as dozing fey folk's dreams, they keep.

Awaken, tiny nimble feet!
Your wings are fragile, bonny pink!
Unfold them in the sun's warm rays
and from the trumpet flower, drink.

How deliciously poetic with a musical, colorful lilt that made my heart skip like a five year old. applaud

Charming and ethereal. The tone and subject matter make me think of Edmund Spencer and The Faerie Queene.
