Written after looking through photos for my birthday party.

My Photo Album

When up in my attic
I found a story written in static
Through boxes and frames, I relived my life,
I saw times of joy and times of strife,
I was reunited with those who have passed,
And eyed the youth of some relations proven to last,
Old friends,
Abstract trends,
A root of a tradition,
And a victorious competition,
Some things, what was I thinking,
But others I thought that linking
It to my life now was easy,
An ex-boyfriend that turned out to be sleazy,
The ups and downs,
The smiles and frowns,
Of my entire being,
As I flip the pages I am seeing,
The reason I am who I am today,
And I must say,
I'm glad I came up into this attic,
And found this story written in static!

I love looking through old photographs and sifting through the memories that they hold, a lovely poem.

This was a lot of fun to read. Of course it inspired me to think about the mounds of photos I have after nearly 59 years of life! I wonder what story would all those photos tell and would it be a true story or a version I liked better??? Thanks for the delightful read.

love it. I did the same once, put 23 years together, half a lifetime, it helps to see life as it was, or glimpses of it, but! photos can be deceiving too, each one has it's own story, that would be a good poetry project or maybe play. I really enjoyed your step back in times gone by though, thanks for sharing. Tai
