Politico stupido's,
ranting at the color of paint on the walls,

Purple Hearts

Purple hearts beating
in the halls,
the walls,
on the floors,
of Walter Reed.
Why do we not hear them?

Purple hearts beating
damaged fodder
of cannons muzzle;
dismantled by high ideal,
and bayonet mindset.

Politico stupido's,
ranting at the color of paint on the walls,
photo op's for the weak minded,
non combatant instigators,
in blue suits and red tie's.

Purple hearts beating;
I can hear them pounding,
I can see them bleeding,
bleeding,
Red, White, and Blue.

Purple hearts beating,
they beat for us,
and what do our hearts
think of them?

Yes their hearts beat for us and they risked all for us and they deserve the best from us. But they are used by politicians who don't have one ounce of respect for them. They are abused by "citizens" for whom they put their lives on the line. Some wish they didn't exist. Some ridicule them. Some ignore them. All should get on their knees and thank them and cry for all they've lost. These brave souls are our backbone, something most in Washington lack. I could go on and on. I thank you for your poem and say Amen!
