A Constant Reminder

A shadow can shout so much louder than words
It is there when it hurts, and it sings like the birds
Like a march through a barren, cold plain
In the essence of night, in the dry desert rain
And you smile for a while, in your shelter of pride
You find an old shed, but you don't go inside
You continue your march 'til the rain dies away
And your left out to face the most beautiful day
Oh the warmth, it can swell like a wound in your skull
When it pounds on your temples like the beak of a gull
In the end there's no answer, no answer at all
But you stand in the feild standing naked and tall
Though the cross breeze can purr, and the typhoon can scream
It is all just a sham, just an emptyful dream
Gnaw away at the ego, flies and lizards will come
They will tear you apart and chew you like man gum
As a contant reminder of a coward in prowl
When he laughs at his death after crying a howl
