A Child In Shadows.

I saw her sitting in the park
Dishevelled clothes,eyes ringed dark
She sat in shadow with sallow face
On a sunny day so out of place
Her hands were grimy, broken nails
And in the distance a siren wails
People pass without a glance
She looks as though she's in a trance
So alone and in despair
Now in a world that no longer cares
Her posture tells a life of trials
In one so young devoid of smiles
A single tear runs down her face
No hand of comfort offers grace
Some one's daughter, still a child
What is it in her world defiled
That she should sit here all alone
Inside a park and not a home
And in my heart I feel a pain
As sharp as any stake
That a child should live in shadows
In a world that adults make.

Amen! Such an indictment, your conclusion!

PS: Eighth line from the bottom needs "Some one's" :-,?
