And no I am not too old to remember either. Got that old time feeling again

First Date by M.A.Meddings

I am feeling like a school boy on his first date
All dressed up hoping shes not late
Taking good care I had a comb for my hair
And  just wondering where
I arranged to meet her
Was it right here or just across the street away down ?
By the Scala I am sure it was
Oh! My head
Or was it the Odean
Cant remember  what we said
Because I confess
When she said just where
I never even heard her I was floating on air
And did I clean my shoes and straighten my tie
Let me look in that shop window
Oh! My Oh! My
I look a mess
Will she even guess
If I rub my shoes on my trouser leg
And I really dont recall what my sister said about girls
And  body splash
Just a dash she said
Dont go over your head
A subdued ambience
If you have a chance you will know it
She will stand real close
And then just show it
The way she thinks you are wonderful
After all it is only your first date
So please god dont you be late

Hi, Mike, just like it happens on the first date, then later you laugh at yourself for being such a bundle of nerves... But at that moment your life is hanging on it- it is a matter of life and death for you...
(((Hugs for the Nostalgia piece))))
Love, Zoya

Well done, hero! We never outgrow it, do we? ;-,?

this gives me a chuckle and a smile. The tenderness, the longing to please, the honest expression of nervousness are very endearing. You know girls get that same way too. Maybe we don't wipe shoes on our trousers legs, but we most certainly will check the store window for imperfections.
Oh yes, where did we plan to meet? lol
