A Suspicious Mind.

A suspicious mind retreats in pain
To a cold and lonely place
A place with walls of crystal
That reflects a tear stained face
The hopeless face of one betrayed
With nowhere else to turn
Where the twisted knife within the heart
Feeds the embers that still burn
The dream that once flowed freely
Now stagnates in its domain
This oh so cold and lonely place
Where it shall now remain.

Oh it is a dreadful place when mistrust enters in. If only to find the sunshine again...
A lovely work. Perfect flow and rhythm and a pleasure to read and enjoy. Nicely done. ~Pamela

Well conveys that cold and lonely place; definitely in need of a springtime thaw!

Zoya Zaidi
Suspicion is so tormenting!
It is a real killjoy!
You are fed by your own demons
Of thought and suspicion...
And your fertile imagination,
Keeps thinking the worst would happen;
The anguish is next to none,
The future seems so dark and dun...

But if you stop and contemplate,
Most of the time you tend to find,
That your mind is inundating
With the pain, you yourself are creating...

Suspicion can be so tormenting...

((Hugs dear Graham, I hope you get over it fast)))
Love, Zoya
