An Eastertime Birthday for Michael Meddings!
On a spring day in Goose Landthe west wind did blow,
flipping the calendar pages just so...
And old Mother Goose then started to sing...
"Gather 'round, darlings!
Now it is spring!"
All throughout Goose Land
the folks did rejoice
and called out together
in one happy voice,
"Then we shall have Easter!
What a fine choice!"
Humpty Dumpty, there on his wall,
was the most happy, yes happy of all,
for each Easter Day,
he was crowned king
and gifts for the Dumpty
each person would bring!
Jack 'n' Jill sped up the hill
to fetch a pail of brew!
Then they sat and drank it up
by a pail or two!
Nipping and tipping and dancing around,
both Jack 'n' Jill fell to the ground!
Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary,
dressed in her Easter best,
with her Bible in her hand
ran to the church where she confessed,
"I'm in love with all the Goose Land pipers,
especially the one that wears the huge diapers!"
The Queen of Hearts made ripe prune tarts
that were extra, extra fruity!
All of Goose Land slurped them up
and then were root-root-tooty!
In one huge collective blast...
The Easter Day was suddenly past...
Poor Humpty Dumpty had a mild fit
there on the wall where he liked to sit.
He had no gifts, no not one at all!
The toot wind had ruined his Easter Ball!
For the page blew back as was before,
And now, we close the Goose Land door!
NO!! The door again springs open wide
to allow Michael Meddings to slip inside!
The celebration begins anew
and now includes the birthday crew!
Old King Cole and his fiddlers three
gave the best party you ever did see!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL, AND MANY, MANY MORE!
