A poem with a subtle rhyming scheme
that wraps itself around the lines.

How Falls the Night, Fine Sir?

How falls the night, fine Sir?
Does stillness settle in
and the frantic daytime pace
reverse itself and then erase
the woes and worries
that do bind...

Do you, Sir, then find time
to think of days gone by?
Do you remember things
that make you sigh
and wish for morning light
to come and shoo away the night?

I wish that I might come
and laugh away the night with you
and then come day...
what would we do?
We'd laugh away the daytime, too!
Promises I make, and keep...

So now, dear Sir, do go to sleep!

How falls your day, Fine Lady? Missing you lately here on the bay... and hoping you're okay...

As Nepenthes quoted, it reminded me of the flow of Frost's work (one of my all-time favorite poets). So soothing and lovely!

Individuality
sleep, to sleep and dream of bliss
kissing lips on a Spring night,
perhaps awake though desires too
a peck on the cheek, maybe two.

a smiling piece here, a poem to lift hearts into joy's realm.
