Alzheimer's
"He forgets the past."She complained,
But I thought,
" How lucky he is ! "
No bagage.
No past agonies.
No past pain.
No divorce.
No beatings.
No thefts.
No abortion.
I wish I could
Be absolved,
Of my past,
All my myriad mistakes,
All the people I have hurt,
Unwittingly or was I just
Careless, reckless.
Poison tongue,
Lashing out ,
Harsher than any weapon.
"He forgets the past."
And I live it,
Over and over,
Day by day,
And the pain
Takes years to be healed
The regrets become obsessive,
The pain, a bad habit...
