The Rose by M.A.Meddings
In the valley
Where the dogwoods show
Their glory to the World
Just there dwells my heart
Where dawnlight cardinals
Sing to love unfurled
I found a glorious paradise
In the beauty of her eyes
And I saw my world
In the radiance of her smile
A gentle peacefullness
Enwrapped within her arms
Her grace became my quest
And in the serenity of this love
I walked in flower laden bowers
And of all the beauty there
The one thing I treasure
Above all other jewels
Is the soft and gentle blooming
Of the Rose in my heart
