A Portrait Of My Love by M.A.Meddings
I tell you of my tender heart and I love how it was said
Starting with your hair and the way it hangs there over your eye
And Oh! The enchanting way that just under your hair line
Tiny freckles shine where the light catches your forhead
Then I adore your pretty eyebrows perfectly shaped they seem
To stand astride the gently throbbing dip at your temples
And in the beauty of your eyes, is there any surprise they enrapture me
Deepest brown with the highlighted crown of flecked gold and green
More beautiful eyes I have never seen they uplift all of my dreams
As with charm and grace the cheek line of your face
Just beams your loveliness to my heart
Even from the start I saw the world in the radiance of your smile
Then gently framed your pretty nose winkles when you care
So that I often needful welcome its barely diguised propose
That I might softly kis you and tenderly I suppose
Heavens knows how I miss you when ever you're not there
And with your dimpled smile you become all the while my truest love
For just below your eyes are the tiny traverse lines
Where in earlier times they proved the tracks of your tears
But now in latter years there will be no more crying
Because my gentle lady this is how I see you all the time
It is just how much I love you
It is a portrait of my love
