Past Love

I love you like wind loves trees
love that break branches and tear up roots
but also love that make leaf's soft whisper
and yearn for more, love that protects
not forever, just until winter
but at the other end is spring
and new sprouts beg a new beginning
With magic and a careful breeze
the trees tell tales of summers beauty
I love you like the trees love the wind
even with broken branches my leaves still
sing of you
