waiting
Annihilation.
Running fast
But catching no one.
The clock ticks
Not fast enough
For this beating heart,
Elated breath,
And excited soul!
To each is own,
My own,
Awaiting what I seemed to pass,
Without a memory...
For what seemed so close,
Is really a lifetime away,
What dread befalls me,
Will not be enlightened.
For enlightenment comes only at the stroke of four,
And it is ten,
To close to be perceived,
To far to be felt.
Not by excitement,
But by the clock!
If time was run
By elation,
It would come quickly,
But...Alas...
My enlightenment is dictated by a slow and incessant clock,
Not my rapid, anticipating heart...
