So you see...
I went outside tonight to tell my woes to the moon.Seeking sympathy from the fireflies at dusk.
And as I poured my heart out the crickets began to sing while the moss on the old oaks danced in the evening breeze.
I told the moon how I would lay alone in the dark tonight.
Yet, it didn't seem inclined to shine any brighter.
And when I told the fireflies of how terribly I missed you, they blinked their empathy a little too spritely.
I whispered to the wind that without you I felt lost, but the air became still and gave no clue of direction.
Even without the breeze to dance upon the moss continued to sway to the crickets lulling song.
When you left time didn't stand stand still, the world didn't come to a halt, but I did.
So you see, you have to come back because this unsympathetic world just seems to go on ...
even though
I can't.
