As Do Thee Enchant Me Now by M.A.Meddings
You took me momentarily
To summer 1956
When I swung on grandfathers garden gate
Waiting for a high school girl to pass
Even though she was always late
I couldnt help but but gate swing
It was the thing to do with high school girls
And maybe she would stop and talk
Then entrance me with her eyes as you do now
And maybe somehow I could still my burning thrill
As she came so close that I could count
The freckles on her nose and beneath her eyes
What a surprize she was just like thee
Exactly twenty three either side
Please dont try to hide them
They look so pretty and are part of my heart
And this gentle love for you
Memories will come and go
But in 1956
I was all aglow when she did show
And nothing changes
For now the moment that I see you
Be you early or late I am at that garden gate
With my freckle faced beauty
Simply bewitching me
As do thee enchant me now
