In search of refuge.
I am as lost as a small childIn a strange place
Frightened and confused
Now brings the dampness to my face
Once more my heart begins to pound
To the shaking of my limbs
And i feel the terror rising
As the light begins to dim.
I know i am defenceless
Against the terrors of the night
I need your arms around me
To tell me its alright
I sense your presense near me
As i reach to touch your hair
And then i open up my eyes
Just to find that your not there.
Will i ever feel that warmth again
emotionally secure
Or will i stand inside forever
Looking out an open door
This empty void inside me
Seems impossible to fill
To walk or talk
To laugh or cry
Now just an empty shell.
Is there such a refuge?
A place where one can go
To still my heart from acheing
And to quell my very soul
A place where i can think of you
Without consuming pain
Be free to look upon your face
And see your smile again.
