The Glacial Prison
It grew from fallen dewAnd crept around me,
I am surrounded. Torn.
Fingerprints and kisses decorate the inside
From my thankful strokes and love
Until one day a frost breathed and spread,
Infectious.
Interlocking crystals forged
Unique patterns before my feet
From distorted light causing my vision to fade.
Spiteful cold edges ever closer
Intent on of driving her nails in me.
Tired and broken and fallen.
I huddle in a pool of biting tears
As the unknown begins to take hold. Control.
Until I saw a spark through red ringed eyes
And it swallowed me from the inside out.
Warmth. Strength. I felt lifted as the walls
Cracked and rid themselves of their misty layer
When I realise I'm singing.
And then I feel alone
As I stare at myself through the world
Cracking all around us.
