From a distance

painfully beautiful
luring
innocent
all appears
from a distance

yet
as you
set foot
as you
reach out
for a little piece
of infinity
the beauty
the innocence
shall pull away
leaving you hanging
in open spaces
or falling into
trap doors
invisible
from a distance

forget
this yearning
for closeness
forget
these needs
so human
breathe
live
before
close encounters
shall
hug you
to death
with merciless
tentacles

This is so beautiful!
It has so many layers to it...
It has a lot of depth to it...
So much thinking experience has gone into it...
So much is s said in such few wards...

Yeah, things always look so beautiful ad alluring from afar, inviting you into their fold,; Only by going near, touching them, feeling and experiencing them can you realize their true nature...

I guess what I am trying to say is that this is an excellent piece of art!

(((Hugs)))
Welcome to the bay from my side dear Havetslys!
We have new talent in you here on the bay!
Love, Zoya

I have read this again and again and still take different meanings from it. The sign of an exceptional poem, which this is. It may have been the mountains which provoked your muse but it is your poetry that provokes our thoughts and brings forth light. Really well done.
