What I saw when the rain went away

A blackbird that cannot sing
sits on a statue once white,

now concealed in duskdust
and eaten by moist moss –

the features of the faces
soon impossible to see.

Zoya Zaidi
I read it again and again to get to the bottom of it.
I think it is great!
I was trying to connect the black-song-less-bird to the decaying statue- I must be dumb today! lol!
Welcome to the bay!
(((Hugs)))
Love, Zoya
