Everything's blooming!

My Flowers

How fast things are growing in the garden just now,
let Mother Nature take a well earned bow.
A sea of Forget-me-nots has now given way,
to the pansies who smile in the beds every day.

Tobacco-flower growing, it will be so tall,
and white and precious will smother us all,
in the evenings with scent, a miracle indeed,
and all from last years saved precious seed!

The delphiniums this year will be second to none,
can't believe how they've grown since the shoots first began.
Tall spires of purple and silvery blue,
from mother's bedroom window there's a magical view.

A most special flower I grow each year from seed
and their perfume's enough to make your heart bleed.
"Night-Scented-Stock" the name of this bloom,
if you have none, I urge you to get some soon!

By day the little flowers look crumpled and dead,
but at eventide all lift a mauve starry head.
You would never believe the incredible perfume,
if grown by the door, they scent the whole room.

Each and every year, I look forward to this,
my "Night-Scented-Stock" I would just hate to miss.
I love them so much, but they make me feel sad,
they were grown each year too, by my Wonderful Dad.

Now he is gone, his memory endures,
our love is eternal, but just now on pause.
All gardens and flowers bring his face back to mind,
a wonderful man, so wise and so kind.
