Twm Sion Cati was a Welsh brigand during the 16th century
He robbed the Rich to give to the poor so they say. Sort of a Welsh Robin Hood.
But Keep Just A Bit For Yourself by M.A.Meddings
Twm Sion Cati was rather nattyAt relieving the rich from their money
Sort of Welsh Robin Hood
Only not so good
'Coz he kept just a bit for himself
Unlike Robin of Loxley Twm was more foxy
at bending the rules just a little
From the rich to the poor
Well certainly sure
But he kept just a bit for himself
At Tregaron assizes with a thief from Devises
The judge threw a book from the shelf
Four score and twenty
No fear I got plenty
But keep just a bit for your self
No said the judge my words I'll not fudge
Your concern just suits you so well
Taking bribes not allowed
Well not yer in this crowd
But I'd love just a bit for myself
Then make it Five twenty you know I got plenty
Far and wide my praises they sell
I am Twm Sion Cati
And I'm rather natty
At keeping a bit for myself
From the rich to the poor of course to be sure
There's a bell in your head
That should ring
Remember it well from yer unto hell
Poverty's a relative thing
Rob from the rich this lifes such a bitch
But a matter you know only well
Benevolence is fine
Most of the time
But keep just a bit for yourself
