The whole world is her third floor flat.

Meena

I live in a flat its on the third floor,
Just my mum and me, who I simply adore,
My lifestyle is simple I rise about eight,
Lick each of my paws, and then I lie in wait,
I'm ready for breakfast prepared by my mum,
Its biscuits and tinned meat all good for my tum,
After I've eaten I take a short nap,
Curled up in a tight ball I lay in her lap,
When she goes off to work I'm watchful, on guard,
But keeping awake now I find it quite hard,
So it's another short snooze or perhaps a long sleep,
Then awake and alert through all the rooms I do creep,
A palatial pad with a vista of views,
I wander my world go wherever I choose,
There are jungles and forests and mountains galore,
I love to go wandering I love to explore,
When I get tired I climb on mums bed,
Snuggle into her pillow and lay down my head,
I dream of the fields and the trees I can see,
From the safety of the window or from my large balcony,
I have never ever ventured even through the front door,
The whole world is in my flat and I ask for nothing more,
I protect my mum Lizsa from all those great big hairy spiders,
Who crawl in through windows with the other outsiders?
There are hundreds of my mums friends that like to call around,
So I make myself scarce and invisible so I cannot be found,
I hide in the cupboards or under my mums favourite chair,
From the safety of my hidey-hole I just sit there and I stare,
When it's late and we are resting we watch the soaps on our TV,
I love this time the very best just my adorable old mum and me,
I am now getting on in years and I grant you I am quite fat,
But I'm happy and contented I am MEENA I am Lizsa's cat.
